Open Access Policy

The International Journal of Business Education and Management Studies (IJBEMS) is committed to the open dissemination of knowledge. We firmly believe that publicly accessible research accelerates the exchange of ideas, encourages innovation, and enhances the global impact of scholarly work. As such, IJBEMS operates under a full open access publishing model, ensuring that all published content is freely available to readers worldwide—immediately upon publication and without subscription or access fees.

Key Principles of Our Open Access Policy

1. Free and Unrestricted Access

All articles published in IJBEMS are freely accessible online to everyone. There are no paywalls, subscription fees, or registration requirements. Readers are not charged to download, view, share, or cite articles.

2. Author Rights and Licensing

Authors retain full copyright of their work. Upon acceptance, authors grant IJBEMS the right to publish their manuscript under the terms of a Creative Commons license, typically:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)

This license allows others to:

  • Share (copy and redistribute) the material in any medium or format;
  • Adapt (remix, transform, and build upon) the material for any purpose, even commercially;
  • Provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the license is included, and any changes are clearly indicated.

This licensing model ensures that authors’ works receive maximum exposure and usage while maintaining proper attribution.

3. No Embargo Period

IJBEMS does not impose embargo periods. Articles are published and made available on the journal’s website immediately after they are finalized. There are no delays in access to published research.

4. Archiving and Preservation

To ensure long-term accessibility, all IJBEMS content is archived in secure digital repositories and may be mirrored in partner libraries or institutional repositories. Authors are also encouraged to self-archive their published articles in:

  • Institutional repositories;
  • Research networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu);
  • Personal websites;
  • Preprint or postprint servers.

These practices are fully aligned with green open access policies and help preserve scholarly records for future generations.

5. No Article Processing Charges (APCs) [if applicable]

IJBEMS believes in making high-quality academic publishing inclusive. Therefore, we:

  • Do not charge APCs (Article Processing Charges) for accepted manuscripts;
  • Do not impose submission or handling fees;
  • Cover operational and editorial costs through institutional support, volunteer contributions, or grants.

Alternatively, if the journal does charge APCs, indicate the fees clearly and explain what the charges cover (editorial work, hosting, DOI assignment, etc.).

6. Compliance with Funder Mandates

IJBEMS complies with the open access mandates of major international funding bodies, including:

  • UNESCO
  • World Bank
  • European Commission (Horizon Europe)
  • NIH (National Institutes of Health)
  • African Development Bank (AfDB)
  • Local institutional and governmental funders

Authors funded by organizations that require open access can publish in IJBEMS and meet their compliance obligations.

7. Promoting Global Knowledge Equity

Our open access model is particularly aligned with the goal of reducing knowledge gaps between developed and developing regions. By removing economic and access barriers, IJBEMS empowers:

  • Researchers from low-resource institutions;
  • Students and educators in underserved regions;
  • Policymakers and practitioners seeking research-informed solutions;
  • Lifelong learners and entrepreneurs globally.

We see open access not just as a publishing model, but as a social justice strategy for democratizing knowledge.

Benefits of Publishing Open Access with IJBEMS
  • Increased Visibility: Open access articles receive more downloads and citations.
  • Wider Impact: Research reaches academics, professionals, and the public.
  • Faster Dissemination: Immediate publication without delay.
  • Greater Collaboration: Open access fosters international networking and partnerships.
  • Author Recognition: Research is indexed, cited, and shared across platforms.

  • Read and download full-text articles from our website;
  • Print and share copies for educational or professional use;
  • Translate the article into other languages (with proper attribution);
  • Use content in teaching, presentations, and training materials;
  • Build upon published work with appropriate citations.
